To start off, I have been doing massive amounts of research regarding the best, cost effective coilovers for my needs. I was dead set on BC racing BR type suspension until I came across the multiple threads documenting the clunking and other noise related issues. I want no parts of clunking and metal on metal noise coming from the suspension (I dealt with that on a previous car with the same rear suspension setup).
I then came across relatively positive reviews on the Stance Super Street non-oem true coilover suspension and again thought I was set. That lasted until reading threads on the 370z forums that explained a true coilover rear might not be the best option due to stressing the sheet metal at the mount points in a way that wasnt intended.
So now I am super confused and need some help. I am trying to find the following:
coilover suspension
adjustable dampening
can adjust to be very low
doesn't clunk or make noise
realitively cost effective

What does "relatively cost effective" mean? Do you want good quality or do you want cheap? Can't have both. Decide which is more important. The choices you have looked into are cheap. Not absolute garbage, but not particularly high quality.
I know you want the adjustable damping but the KW V1 gets about the best reviews in that price range and are set up really well right out of the box for spirited daily driving and occasional tracking.
IMO the adjustable damping would take a back seat to having a high quality setup. If you check around on the V1s I think you'll find a very positive consensus.

To be frank, (repable) coilovers options available for RWD are so limited that I can count with my two hands and even worst for AWD.
When I was searching for coilovers, my main criterion were quality, noise-free, and won't break the bank. My search then narrowed down to 3 possible candidates... KW, Tein, and Tanabe in this specify preference order. The MAIN reason I would only consider these 3 was they all use the stock factory top hats instead of the pillowball mount that other brands would include. OEM = better (in most cases) and less moving parts = less noises/issues

I couldn't find much about Tein but my previous experiences with them have been very good and knowing that they are 100% rebuildable (and affordable) in SoCal was a big plus for me. Tanabe has a different setup approach by using a helper spring which should help with ride quality but more parts equal more problems (usually). Went with Tein and very pleased with it!

Did you go with the true coilover rear setup or the OEM style rear from Stance? The true coilover is what has me weary, I don't trust the upper mount points.
I'd still give strong consideration to the KW V1, the adjustable damping feature is a bit overrated IMO since the low end of the damping is way too soft and floaty to be drive-able. And the other end of the spectrum is too firm for daily driving. The KW V1 settings are right in the useable range for spirited daily driving with occasional track use. Pretty much perfect for someone wanting to mod their car for improved street duty without sacrificing much comfort. And the quality is above par compared to any other $1300 or less product.
