Bounces after i pull ebrake

So my cars been like this since i bought it a.couple months ago. It's a 6mt but when i go to park, pull the ebrake, and let go of the brake, the car rolls back and bounces like an old automatic car no matter how hard i pull the ebrake. Any suggestions?

That's normal to an extent when parking on an incline. The car will settle slightly when taking your foot off the brake with the ebrake engaged.

So long as the ebrake holds the car from moving you're fine. On really steep inclines I'll also leave it in first or reverse (gears with highest gear ratios).

Also, it's just a parking brake, not actually an emergency brake per se. In other words, it's weak compared to real e-brakes.

No Rockford turns with this parking brake, that's for sure. Every once in a while, I'll approach a speed trap and instinctively pull up on the parking brake handle with regrets as I'm immediately reminded how weak it is.

Why would you pull the parking brake approaching a speed trap?

Wouldn't it be better to use the brake pedal? Because it works all 4 brakes instead of just the rear parking brake?

The emergency brake doesn't activate the brake lights. Think about it, Lego.

But don't do it in your G, because parking brake.

I am thinking about it. How is anyone going to see your brake lights when you're approaching a speed trap? They are hitting the front of your car with radar.

I guess I'd rather my car nose dive from hitting the brakes before I get clocked. Nothing illegal about braking

We're OT, so let's wrap this up.

Not all parked traffic cops have a radar gun aimed at traffic. Sometimes it's just a cop trolling for something suspicious, or taking a break, or surfing **** on his smartphone. So if you drive by a parked cop, and your brake lights go on, that's a big red light advertising not only that you're speeding, but that you know you're speeding.

As for radar... if you're speeding and there are other cars around you, which car is the traffic cop most likely to look at first as the car deserving attention?

I think your logic on this one is silly, but whatever works for you. Ive never heard of anyone being pulled over for braking, unless they were already clocked over the speed limit. Nor have I ever heard of braking being a reason to pull someone over.

In my younger day, I got ticketed for 78 in a 55, the officer told me "thats what I clocked you at, we both know you were going faster"

Back on topic....I think op is just experiencing the weight of his car transferring back to the parking break.

It could be possible that one side of your parking brake is adjusted a tad looser. You will have to look at the drum shoes under the brake rotor to confirm that...

I have the same problem, when ever i put my parking brake on it will roll back about 3 inches. It also squeaks when i get out. if i put my e brake on all the way and i take my foot off the pedal it continues to roll forward without much resistance. Some of my other cars wont move forward if the ebrake is on and the car is in drive, is this normal?

I always found it best to go full throttle while in the presence of a cop. It's ok so long as the front wheel remains on the ground.

Yea it doesn't roll back but bounces like an auto tranny put in park and when you let go of the brake. Idk. Feels like my whole rear end is loose or something
