AFAIK there's no left or right spring, just a top & bottom orientation. I just marked mine like Conner mentioned. Mine weren't Swifts or AWD so just a general spring install observation.
Sry for your install troubles

Even if I did that at the beginning there is no way (at least from what I could tell) to align the end of the top spring with the bottom rubber piece of the top hat (on the passenger side at least, because the driver side was fine). I always make sure the bottom part of the spring where it starts is seated on the strut housing perfect, but the top would never line up perfectly. I just said fk it and installed it knowing the top part of the spring is not seated perfectly.

I've had mine for over a year and have not experienced any issues...plus we had 2 years of back to back bad winters that were well beyond normal for New England.
you could be right. are worn shocks/struts capable of producing squeaking

Might give this a quick browse starting at post #115, it's not a hard DIY, just need to notice the oem strut alignment and duplicate it.

Few quick tips.

When taking off the 19mm nut near the control arm make sure you have a wrench on the backside to hold the nut to make it easier to break said 19mm nut holding the bolt (unless you have an impact wrench which makes it easier).

When you get the coil out mark where the top hat lines up with the bottom of the strut so you hopefully don't have the same problem as me.

Do note when compressing the swift springs you are going to enividably fk up some of the red paint.

Now, I hope you have better luck then me but for some reason my driver side spring matched up perfectly (did I get lucky?) on the coil (you could also see the swift logo.....) but my passenger side spring did not (swift logo was on the backside). I'm really curious to see how your install goes because now i'm wondering about mine.

Lastly, please let me know if you figure out how to line up the passnger side if done right.

Oh yeah, be prepared for busted knuckles and scratches everywhere but you already knew that......

Thanks for the tips guys. Marking where the top hat lines up with the bottom of the struts was seriously some awesome advise. I can only imagine getting this all bolted up and not having the strut align properly. It was enough of a pain in the @ss to get it the strut in an out. Also learned that PB Blaster is your best friend on this project. This coupled with an impact wrench makes the removal of those stubborn bolts a breeze. Got this all done within 4 hours with and even took a lunch in between

As for the drop, I couldn't be happier. It's nice and even from front to back. It actually dropped a little more than I expected which is actually perfect because I was concerned it was going to be too mild. From the little cruise I took around town, the ride feels as close to stock as you can get. I'm pumped!

Glad it worked out for you.

Question, were you able to get both front springs lined up at the top and bottom of the strut perfectly? Also, is the swift logo visible on the fronts? My driver side was only visible.

As far as the spring alignment goes, I sat the spring on the strut with the end of the bottom of the spring resting in the knotch just as the stock spring sat. For the top of the spring, I just marked the alignment on the top hat and bolted that down. The top of the spring did not line up with the stock indentation that was on the rubber piece but that shouldn't pose a problem as the rubber will mold to the new position of the spring. Idk about the swift logo, I don't recall if they were visible or not on each side when installed.

Ok, now I don't feel so bad with one of my springs not lining up perfectly with the top because all I cared about was the bottom. Thanks man, I kind of wish my swifts were a bit lower in the front but I'm sure I won't be saying that when I enter my garage parking lot at work where I have to unfortunately meet a higher then normal speed bump.

How much were the springs from N4S/how much do they tend to be?
Also, do you happen to know the AWD Spring part #?

Damn, I paid $335. That twenty bucks would have covered the pizza and beers for the install.

Oh well.
