How are the springs on stock wheels? Want to get some springs when I get my vossens but want to know how well they do when my stock wheels are on for the winter.

This is dragion's G37xS, on Swift springs, before and after:

And yeah, 20mm spacers with the 18" OEM Sport rims after the drop. Pretty cool hardware.

So this is my agenda when I get wheels and springs. 2012 G37xs

1. 20" wheels

2. Swift Springs

3. 20mm spacers *this can wait

4. Camber kit

5. Alignment

Going to try to see if I can get this all done at ounce at royal wheel and tire in mass where I'm planning on getting my wheels installed.
Please correct me if I'm missing anything.

Why are you planning on spacers? Get the right offset on whatever 20's, and you're good to go. In all likelihood, aftermarket 20's will already have an aggressive offset. Maybe ever too aggressive.

Not only is that odd, but you listed wheel spacers twice, like you really really want spacers.

I need to get spacers anyways when I switch back to my stock wheels on swift springs. That step can wait I guess. Forgot that aftermarket wheels are probably gonna be wider then stocks. Sorry still revlitivly new at this.

You shouldn't need the spacers unless you're trying to clear calipers or want to run flush. At least IMO, the tuck isn't too bad. Either way, not too costly I suppose.

I ran spacers on the sport sedan rims after I had the BBK installed which also flushed them but now running the Rays I don't need the spacers at all.

Viet, what wheels did you decide on? Also sizes and offsets if you've already confirmed the order.

Nothing confirmed yet just doing some planning before making a big investment. Narrowed it down to two options.20x9 CV7 or CV5 Matte Graphite Machined on a square set up. Already got a quote, just need to find the time and pull the trigger.

Vossen doesn't offer a whole rage of offsets, so you'll be getting a set of wheels with very aggressive fitment that will only look right when dropped. That's just my opinion based on recent experience, but I suspect blnewt and others would agree. In other words, Vossen is one of those niche wheel manufacturers that expect you to drop the car. Want proof? Go look at every single car in their extensive photo gallery. And it's a seriously extensive gallery.

Guess who learned this the hard way and feels kind of silly now?

Yep^^^
Viet prior to ordering post the size & offset in this thread just so you'll know what to expect. It's a pretty good sized purchase so IMO it's best to know what look you'll be getting prior to plunking down the coin. For a square sedan AWD setup I'd shoot for 8.5 +35s running 245/35s on 20s or 245/40 if running 19s or 9" +40 running same size tires. If you go 9.5" I'd go +45 offset running the same tires, but they'll be a little stretched on the mount.

Didn't know buying wheels would be so complicated lol all this terminology got me scratching my head. I'll let you guys know what I get before making the payment. I appreciate you guy's concern. Thanks!
