Hearing squeaking
Hearing squeaking
Hey guys,
What does it mean when my clutch is squeaking when I half clutch it without gas? My breaks are also squeaking so i thought i needed new break pads; when I went to get my oil change they told me both are fine and ended up just lubricating them. The squeaking was gone for a day and I heard it again on my clutch and breaks. Lastly, isn't they dealership suppose to check my tire pressure too when i go in for a oil change? Because the next day after my oil change, my tire pressure lights came on so I get a weird feeling they didn't even check.

My brakes were squeaking so I purchased new pads. Go to put them on, and there's still a lot of pad left on all of them. Put some grease on the back of the original pads and put them back on. Squeaking went away for a few days and now it's back. It's not bad, so I'm not to worried about it. These thing's just squeak for some people I guess.
Might need to lube up some parts of the clutch pedal? Or does the squeaking sound like it's coming from the transmission itself?
My brakes squeak, the dealer heard me driving in and said, "oh you must have an S huh. They all do that."
Funny thing is that my brakes squeak in reverse and not so much when I'm stopping when going forward. Oh well, I've learned to live with it as long as my brakes work.

All brake squeak comes from vibrating pads.
Grease can help but it has to be hi-temp; the best solution is antip-friction pads available at most auto parts stores.
I remember chasing clutch squeaks years ago in various cars; pedal bearings are often to blame...
