just installed lowering springs and now my left front wheel is smoking?
hey guys, just installed lowering springs in my 09 g37xs and i drove it home, about 15 miles.. halfway home i smelled something like burning, but thought it was the pos ford ranger that was in front of me for like 7 miles.
i get home, get out of the car and smoke is coming out of the left front wheel.. pop the hood and the smoke is also coming out of the left side of the intake facing the front of the car.. does anyone know what this can be from? I went through the car wash before i got home and i thought it could be from the water hitting the brakes, but its been like 3 hours and my car is 100% dry and its still doing it..

it seemed like the car was driving fine all the way home.. when i got home i smelled it.. when i just went tto drive it again i saw the power steering fluid bubbling and also theres a slight whine inside the cabin when i turn the steering wheel. im not sure what they checked to be honest, i went down the street and ate when they did the install.. the guy has lowered 2 other g37's in the passed so im not sure why he messed something up now.. the car is not even THAT low.. heres a pic

i decided to actualy look under the car lol and i saw a bunch of green grease, i think from the inner cv joint? He probably over extended axle joints trying to get springs in and out BUT would this cause it to smoke and smell? And more importantly, what does it have to do with the power steering fluid boiling? Hoping there isnt multiple issues here from this ghetto spring install?

The power steering is fed through a pump I think you're mistaking the flowing to boiling. Get the car up on a lift and check. Do you notice any unusual noise coming from the front?

ended up bringing it to infiniti as my buddy is the service manager... guy who did lowering spring install tore the inner boot assembly causing the grease to leak out and it flew up into the manifold causing it to smoke.. luckily my buddy snuck it in under warranty.

yeah, was a crappy situation, but worked out pretty good lol... The wheels are 19" VSR Storms 18.5 fronts, 19.5 backs, running same tire size all around, just stretched the backs so the car wont know the diff of it being staggered. I'll probably end up painting the lips red to give it a more aggressive look, I do with almost all of my cars lol.. Springs are eibach and the car looks ALOT better with them, but my ride quality went down the toilet. I feel every bump/pothole now.
heres a current pic with the new chip spoiler
