Knocking and popping

And yet more suspension woes...

When accelerating briskly from a stop, backing up and into inclines with wheel turned, or just going over small bumps slowly, i hear a knocking or popping from the passenger front suspension area.

Any ideas?

This is a new development and unrelated to the creaking or grinding noise i had in the past (solved the creaking, and the grinding is only at full lock with forward movement... seems to stem from the leaking rack, driver side.)

Thanks

I experienced pretty much the same sounds from the rear. I got it when I was ... drumroll... aftermarket rear shocks / springs with stock front suspension for a week. Crazy times.

Anyway, the sound went away after I put the fronts on and restored a sensible Front height vs Rear height ratio.

Just sharing an experience here. I'm sure there are plenty of experts who will have more ideas.

Thanks. That's interesting, noted.

Lifted the car last night and checked all bolts. They all seem to be in-spec except the front bolt holding the SPC arm felt a little loose.

Tightened it up and also ran the impact on spurts on the top strut mount bolt. Right after putting the car back down i heard the pop again.

Although, as of this morning, there were no popping noises. I hope it is indeed fixed. *knock on wood*

Stock endlinks??? If so get a set of front & rear SPL endlinks. You won't regret it.

I have OEM fronts and ModMe rears.

No go on the SPL, too many comments of those heim joints making a ruckus.

I've had mine since 2006 without any problems. SPL make the best suspension parts on the market for Nissan/Infiniti cars.

I have hotchkis sways and a cusco front strut tower brace. I read another thread on here saying the mounts need grease.

I have chassis braces that need installing, so ill be getting another alignment after I put those on. I am sure thats all it is.

Yep, it was a worn strut.
