Unfortunately like as mentioned above. I'm in the same dilema regarding the lack of selection of quality coilovers. Currently running Swift and not really pleased...

Man, swifts was my next mod, but with so many negative posts over the last week I'm gonna have to reconsider.

Due to the nature of lowering the vehicle...."comfort" is not really realistic, unless you have the $$$ for custom suspension.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Swift has manufactured an excellent product and works well with the G.

Maybe consider a different wheels/tire combination?
I'm sure a 17" rim with touring tires will be more comfy than with 18/19/20" sport rims w/high performance tires?

But wouldn't this pretty much deplete the purpose of modding and lowering in the first place?

Sorry OP...didn't mean to divert your thread.

Most things in life are a compromise, but the number of people complaining and spending money to revert or try something new is definitely concerning. You're happy with your drop, and that's great. It looks just about perfect too.

Come to think about it your G is very new, right? So that could be a reason for the discrepancy. Your oem dampners are still relatively new. Maybe the others have more miles and are closer to the end of their life cycle. Just a thought.

There are comfy lowering springs out there though. VW vortex springs (1 inch drop) come to mind. They are designed to work with oem hardware (struts included), and feel just a tad firmer than stock.

Also sorry about the slight derailment.

I agree^^^

The Swifts say the same about being engineered/designed to work with the OEM shocks/struts.
Looks like this isn't the case or is it just over expectations?

My initial concern was due to lack of control and handling when hard cornering and lane changing at speeds greater than 80mph. Other than that drop is just fine along with ride quality.

I heard a company by the name of AMR ENGINEERING produce custom coilovers for the AWD platform backed by a lifetime warranty? Any insight/review?

LOL, what?

Such a strange trending here on the forum regarding these Swift springs. It seemed for a while there no one could say anything bad about them, and suddenly people are coming out of the woodwork and complaining. The take-away on this (like most mods) is to take a long, long time before jumping on aftermarket modifications.

Well spoke to Andy at AMR Engineering and decided to bite on their custom coilovers. 4-6 week waiting time... once installed and driven on, review is on its way!

I have a set of Swift springs on my 09 GxS sedan and honestly you have to realize there will be a compromise in ride quality. My car also has Hotchkis sway bars and I admit the ride is a bit harder over bumps and of course, pot holes but I don't mind giving up some ride to have the much better handling at both low and high speeds. It's a choice you'll have to make.

I would like to remind everyone that the OP was interested in answers regarding coil overs and not Swift springs.

Continuation about the Swifts should be directed to either my thread https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...t-springs.html
or here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...good-help.html
or here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...t-springs.html
or a new one can be created.

Sorry qroundqod
