okay, so i found a used set of coil over. And the owner said the thread is messed up and need to rethread. And i found out that a local shop that can does it, only 2 shocks needs to rethread.

Question is, is it safe to ride with the shocks rethread? and should i get it and rethread it?

 

What threads exactly are messed up? How did they get messed up? This is what I'd want to know before considering buying damaged coilovers.

If they are not dirt cheap, leave them where they are and buy coilovers that don't have stripped threads.

and i think because when they took it off, they over torque it

 

If it was overtorqued it was done when they installed it, not removed it. IIRC those nuts only need to be tightened to about 27 ft/lbs or so. I wouldn't buy that unless you are going to replace the upper mounts entirely, not just re-thread the studs. I'd be afraid of damage done to the studs and that they may be weakened. I don't know if you can get just the upper mount by itself. Unless you can replace the upper mounts entirely, I'd pass on them and find another used set that aren't damaged or buy a new set. But that's just me.

 

I wouldn't risk it.
