Sorry Nick, already ordered the stoptech pads from your site, but the site listed by the OP had the rotors I wanted for a much better price than even your DBA's on clearance, so I went with them, plus they're local.

 

Pads are here already ( a couple days ago), KNS ships fast. Rotors are on their way, but shipping from literally within 100 miles, so I should get them quick.

Heavy packages... 4 rotors with 2 at 30 lbs and 2 more at almost 20. Didn't realize that they were so damn heavy.

I'm assuming it's about the same as the stockies, though.

 

Got mine today, were packed very well and seem to have a nice zinc coat applied. No kidding about the weight, but it's all listed on the rotor specs on the site, here's your S specs~

 

So those are Centric C-Tek rotors that that co. machines and coats?

 

I don't see any stamping or other ways to ID them, I can shoot a couple pics of mine and post up later.

 

Look on the edge for a roll printed part number.

The drawing they use is the Centric drawing - 42100 and 42101 for the G37s.

The three numbers in front of that which are blacked out in the drawing are likely 121 which is the C-tek

(i.e. 121.42100 and 121.42101)

 

Got mine today, and yeah... they are ALL black zinc coated. Oh, and I did see the specs on the site... just curious if that's what our stockies weigh.

They look very, VERY sturdy.

The Stoptech 309-13460 and 309-13470 are the front and rear for the SPORT, correct? I know tire rack sent me the wrong dang size before... which is why I ordered from you this time.

 

Yes those part numbers are correct. The only thing I would ever buy from Tire Rack is tires. I don't see "brakes" anywhere in their name.

This is the only ID on mine (other than their hand engraved #) and this is only on the rear rotors, no stamped #s at all on the fronts (mine is a 09 non-sport RWD G37).
It's pretty faint but this is what I see on the edge of the inside disc~
TGA 31530 MIN THK 14MM ( I assume the last numbers are min thickness 14mm).

Looks like you're good to go w/ the pads~

I like the fact these have a full black zinc coat so the area that the pads don't touch will be nice and black rather than a rusted silver and the slots and hole chamfers will be black, nice contrast w/ the bright silver in the pad contact area. I still have one long road trip I'm going to put on my old brakes so it won't be until April before my install, looking forward to hearing your feedback on these MACS.

 

Some lessons are expensive, Nick. Fortunately, I got a full refund so that one didn't cost me.

 

blnewt, mine are completely coated. Even the pad contact area, which I assume will shine up nice after the break in, leaving everything the pad doesn't touch with a nice black coating.

I'm going to weigh the stock rotors after I have these installed to see what they weigh in comparison.

Once I get these on and tested, I'll let you know what I think. Point of reference: I weighed these just now - 27.8 front and 18.3 rear.

 

I just went off the weight on the UPS boxes, looks like mine are 43 & 29 lbs so 21.5 lbs front and 14.5 lbs rear give or take.

Mine are also solid black zinc, seems like a good way to do it compared to most silver & black rotors that still have some silver showing where the pads don't touch and end up rusty in a short time. And the slots and drill holes will have a nice black coating
Hopefully the black zinc will hold up well

 

MACS, did you go with the "cross-drilled" or "cross-drilled and slotted" rotors? I know you said someone at brake performance recommended the cross-drilled over the dimpled/slotted, but I was curious which cross-drilled you ended up getting.

 

I got the cross drilled. They look sweet and will go on the car Monday.
