Eibach installation quote

So I ordered my Eibachs last week, they should be in by friday....my G was at the dealer getting the evap valve fixed and I asked them for a quote to get the Eibachs installed. I knew that the dealer price would be inflated but I wasn't expecting $650 for the install and alignment... Obviously I'm going to shop around for the install, but what should I expect as a price from other places?

I'm wary about doing it myself and with a friend of mine, even though she's done her springs before....

shoot for 150 to 200 for install. 200 is on the high side but if your in an area like me and dont have too many options for shops, gotta bite the bullet.

well dont install your springs and get an alignment the same day..... install springs drive a couple weeks then align. I would say it depends on your location, but spring install should be around 2 1/2 hours @80 per hour....

Is it worth it to do it myself and have a friend help rather than pay for a shop to do it? Are there any videos that show steps? I looked through the factory service manual and it doesn't make mention of changing suspension components (or I just missed it... )

The price you pay depends on the shops in your area. I would guess average for most places would be between $250-$350 for the install. Wait at least a few days or a couple hundred miles before getting alignment.

You can do it yourself if you know what you are doing and have the proper tools.

The DIY section has a thread on it. It was pretty straight forward when I did it myself. Rears are super easy, the fronts I just took the strut assembly to a shop and had them swap the springs for me. Cost about $50 for that, you can probably find cheaper.

Do we have to drive it for a couple weeks or can it be sat in a garage for a couple weeks until it settles? the reason is because my car is not daily driven and i hear that tire wear would be an issue if its not aligned.

I shouldn't think it would matter. But don't be afraid to drive it, a bad alignment won't kill your tires in couple of weeks, unless you take a road trip or something.

Sorry for bringing back the old tread, but did you install the springs? Where and how much? I had one guy quote me $120 for the springs, on G35nyc.com, he is member who does lots of g35s and g37s in NY area. I am stopping by there, so why not hit him up for install.

I asked my dealer the same. I have also asked them about rotor and brake changes. Their standard answer is always $100 per wheel; which is their garage hourly rate. I'm sure if I asked them to pull a nail out and patch my tire, they'd still say $100.

I paid $180 for the initial installation (Brooklyn, NY) and just paid $250 to have the stock springs put back in (central NJ).

Dealership quoted me ~$900 and another small shop quoted me ~$600 for the same job. Keep looking around, the quotes vary significantly.
