I would not count on these cooling the brakes better. If anything, the brakes will fade faster. The heat will not transfer over to the the aluminum covers because the contact surface between the two is insufficient. In this setup, convective heat transfer would be better than conductive heat transfer.

It's fine if you like the way they look and don't mind what others think, but don't track them.

 

Why mess around with appearance items for your brakes on a luxury car? If you have the money get a real brake upgrade with a BBK - you'll have looks and better stopping power, plus something you can track. Painting the OE calipers with some high temp paint would be a great way to improve looks without compromising performance and not getting branded a Fast & Furious ricer.

 

i dont really want to do the caliper covers either but the oem calipers look awful. if i were to get spacers for my wheels would that give me enough of a gap to install legitimate calipers with the 18" oem wheels? i'm not sure how the spacers work but it sounds like you guys think this is a viable option.
