Installing side view LED cover help

This question is for the people who installed side view LED covers on their G. Can anyone tell me how they snaked the wire into the cabin? I'm going through the rubber cover where the rest of the wires are, but I have no clue on how to grab it from inside. PITA was what I kept seeing when taking on this project and yes...it's confirmed.
