When do you need a front camber kit?

I think there is a lot of confusion out there (at least I'm confused for sure) over whether or not to buy just the rear camber kit or both the rear and the front. I was told originally by many that I would only need a rear kit if going with a drop like Tein S-Techs, but my mechanic recently said that I should def get a front kit which would save me a ton in the long run with front tire wear as well. Curious as to what others have heard or experienced regarding whether or not we need to run a front kit. The rear kit I know I'm going to need, but I'm just wondering if I will need the front one also when I get my Tein S-Techs installed.

If you are dropped at all even on Eibach, you cannot get to nominal camber setting on the front or the rear without camber kits. You may get close to the upper limit, but you will never be able to get to nominal setting.

I have Eibach PK and I'm within the limits on the rear...but just barely out on the front...I've been waiting and checking the wear on the tires and haven't seen anything too bad yet

Great post, tyty, so it seems OBV. that it's well worth it in the long run to order both front and rear camber kits. I'm sure some get away without it on the front, but in the long run I'm sure the're going to lose more money buying tires sooner than later w/o the camber kit. I'll be ordering my kits soon, ty.

Well some on here swap their tires and wheels so often that they never see much tire wear.

I and a few others prefer the camber closer to nominal so you don't get that big squat-look in the rear. And then some like squaty-rears....even on their G's.

well, I've had Eibach's for over 40,000 and have no front camber kit, and NO abnormal tire wear. I've gotten almost 30,000 out of the original tires, and 28,000 out of a set of Vredesteins, which still had good tread, especially in the front, but were getting a little noisey for my liking. I do have the rear camber kit

With good toe setting + marginal in or marginal out of spec on camber, your tire wear will be OK. Multiple people have reported that already. But like I said before, you can't get to nominal camber setting without front and rear camber kits even on Eibach.

Even though I am only on Eibach, that is exactly the reason I put in both front and rear.....to avoid the / \ look.

I'm on KW's but have front and rear camber kits from SPC. I originally did only rears, then added the fronts. No more / \ up front, more like [ ] again. Glad I did.

Fairly safe rule is that anything beyond 1" drop in the front or rear will take your camber out of spec so a camber kit is recomended.

I just put KW coilovers and was told to wait until they settle (about 500 miles), then have it aligned which will bring camber close to spec. I also heard that some negative camber is good because it'll improve handling. Has anyone heard of or done this on their G?

All factors considered, I think the camber kit is a safe bet especially for the long run tire wear.
