I have ruled out lowering springs. I have used just about every brand in the past, and I don't like them compared to an actual coilover, plus, the stock shocks were not designed to be used with other springs in the first place.
This thread is several years old, but i have the exact same question, but in 2014. Can anyone provide any updates? I was almost ready to buy the KWv1 last week but kinda put the brakes on everything until i learn a little more. I have a 2013 g37 sedan (nonsport). Maybe i should just keep my OEM setup

I have the kw3. It have the settings at soft(not sure of clicks). They were awesome on smooth and moderately bumpy surfaces. Great performing setup. It is much better than stock. The only problem is that it has a big drop. It is one of the reasons I am seriously considering getting the swift springs with strut setup. The kws are a great setup.

I have also have the Dr2 setup in basement. It was great on smooth and small bumps. It was a one piece setup. I never had the noise issue others had. I only wish the the kws were able to be adjusted as high.

I am with you on this sentiment. I need to install new suspension due to my stock ones coming to end of life but want the performance + smooth ride.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Look at the dates when jumping into a thread. This one is 15 years old and has been dead for 10, and you didn't quote whoever you're responding to... not that they'd still be around. Few people hang on to their cars that long. Know what I mean?

If all you want is OEM ride with a little more edge to them, look for something similar to the OEM dampers from the RWD sport package. Those were made for Nissan by Tokico. I believe the Tokico Blues are still a thing, but it's been a while since I looked at shocks.

Wow. Blast from the past.

I use Swifts with the stock sport dampers and they have worked great for years. Approaching 80K miles, which is normally my cutoff for replacing Struts/Shocks. I like the adjustable Koni Yellow Sports, but for $1000 a set they are hard to justify; it also appears that they are only available for the coupe, no sedan.

I also used KYB Excel-Gs on my 2004 G35S and they restored the performance of the OEM Sport Dampers.

KYB is the ODM for the dampers used on many Japanese models. Tokico was our original ODM, but I checked and it doesn't appear that they make replacement shocks anymore. The Tokico Blues were the #1 choice on the G35.

As Rochester mentions below, simply replacing with the OEM Sport Shocks is another option.
What's odd is that I was looking online today and there is no differentiation between Sport and Journey models.

Best prices I found for OEM are below (Dealer in Florida):
1 Complete Strut with Spring / Mt. Shock Absorber Kit. (Right, Front) E6C00JK50KNW $182.58
1 Complete Strut with Spring / Mt. Shock Absorber Kit. (Left, Front) E6C01JK50KNW $182.58
2 Shock Absorber Kit. (Rear) E6A101NL0KNW $103.67
