I just checked the FSM as there are a lot of places in there where it says "do not reuse" as I have looked things up.

The FSM shows how to take everything apart and how to assemble including what to lubricate and what not to lubricate for pistons, seals, boots....everything. I could not find any notation that any parts had to be replaced if taken apart.

I'm interested in getting done, hence the questions. Does anybody know?

If you are asking what section of the FSM, then it was section BR. Shows full exploded view of the calipers. Is that what you were asking?

Does it say "do not reuse" for the seal? Ahhh, maybe I'll look into painting them instead

No it does not. I read through the whole brake section and did not see that warning anywhere.

ive been running my calipers from mike for about 2000 miles now with hard driving and have had no braking issues. i think if there was going to be any, they would have happened by now.

and like i said, hes been doing this for over 3 years and over 800 sets so if there were any issues with his methods - you would have seen them by now. he also works on his own vette calipers which he tracks on a fairly regular basis so i trust him. you can email him about this if you want.

sorry im late but mike sent me this when he saw your concerns:

Hey,
Can you put in that post that if he is uncomfortable with reusing seals, I can put new ones in at my cost, or he can provide them and I don't charge extra to do that. Its totally unnecessary but a lot of vette guys want new ones too.

Thanks
Mike

w00t, thanks W0ady. How long do you think it'd take? I'm out here in CA

I know someone else that wants to get this done if I go through with it too.

I emailed Mike and asked when was best date to get them to him so I didn't send them when he was traveling. I got them to him on a Tuesday and he shipped them on Friday. So just add whatever shipping you want to pay for to get your total time. Also, he ships them back in his own custom packaging....very nicely done. Mine arrived today. Look great. Hung one real quick and can't wait to see in daylight!

This is off topic but does any one know what size threads are on the front caliper? The one the mount it to the car.

Thanks
Danny
