Warped Rotors?

Hi guys,

I'm experiencing very slight steering vibration during light braking. It doesn't happen all the time and whenever I try to duplicate the vibration I can never seem to get the steering wheel to vibrate.

Do you guys think those are signs that my rotors are warped? If so, that would be warranty covered right? My car only has 7400km on it.

Thanks in advance.

Nope. The car drives fine at any speed, its only during light braking when i feel the steering wheel vibration and even that only occurs sometimes.

Yes the pads are probably warped from high speed breaking. Not covered by warranty. When you get them replaced you need to break sooner, let off a little and continue to break slowly maybe even a downshift or two.

maybe your rotors are not smooth as they used to be ,, you could go to break shop and they could resurface them for you ,,but if thats not the route you want to go ,, you can replace them with new rotors and new pads,, its always smart to replace pads with rotors because your pads are not even anymore,, but just to make sure,, you could contact your dealer first ,,

Take it to the dealer, Nissan/Infiniti has an unwritten 12k mile brake warranty.
They will turn the rotors to eliminate the shimmy.

maybe it was a fault of theirs for the car having warped rotors and you can say that to get it done for free since its a new car.

no?

Having the same issue (8500 miles).
The dealer should resurface them for you at no cost.

I took my car to Road Atlanta last weekend and noticed that when the brakes got really hot they began to pulse the steering wheel. I asked one of the instructors about it and he said that could just be normal accumulation of pad material on the rotor due to the high heat and that it should wear off on its own in a couple days. After they cooled off and I drove home they were indeed fine again....
