I was trying to remove the front bumper for some new fog lights and this screw next to the headlight keeps turning and turning but does not seem to come out… I do hear a click when unscrewing and the other side comes out just fine.
Got some pics of where the screw is protruding out of the fender. Poor car is a little dirty blame the seasons changing
pretty frustrating, but this does bring me to several questions:
- how could I remove this beast?
- tried doing some research and I believe there is a plastic piece that the screw is fastened in. Will have to keep looking at FSM and figure out the part, please let me know if you have the #.
if the plastic piece is the culprit, I’d really appreciate some warnings/guidance on how to replace that.
Open up the hood and there are the two 10mm right next to that corner in the engine bay on the bumper. They are attached to a plastic bracket with nuts.
The issue is the tiny piece of plastic that keeps that nut from spinning breaks very easily. You can try to shove a flathead in between the nut and the bracket to stop it from spinning. You have to also be careful not to yank too hard and rip the mounting tab off the bumper. Good luck, this happened to me also.
