How common is upper bumper clear coat chip on lowered cars?

The shop that installed my Stillen Gen 3 said my clear coat chipping is due to the car being lowered and bumping into the fender on bumps/driveways and it's very common. I got the Eibach's installed a few days before the intakes, so I never noticed until after I got my car back. How true is this? My bumper wasn't lining up flush so I questioned the (re)install. The chips appear to be only on the side that had a fitment issue. Excuse the dirty car, it just rained.
