I’m not even sure what to call this part, I guess moulding is the right word. I noticed this while I was pumping gas that part of the moulding on the roof of our cars was missing. My plan is to go to a junkyard to get this small piece and put it back. How would I go about reinstalling it back in tho? Also, I was thinking of just using a flathead to pry this piece off the junk car, does that sound right?

I made the same mistake. It's one long piece. Yours broke just like mine. They are like 3 or 400 to replace. I glued mine back on.

 

If you use a flathead to pry up you'll break it. Start at the windshield yes the windshield it goes all the way down there. Then work your way backwards.
