Infiniti clock light

I know now that infiniti clock light goes off after so many years and that it is a common issue.

I would like to everyone answer if their clock light is working or not, if it was replaced under warranty or not, and how many miles they put in a car.

Pretty much I want to see if it worth it to buy a used clock in the hopes that the light inside the clock will work, or pretty much ALL OF THEM will fail eventually.

Thanks

2011 with almost 55,000 miles.

Clock light flickered off and on a few times a couple days ago.
The light is now functioning normally, but I'm waiting for it to go out permanently.

I don’t think the car’s mileage is a factor unless you’re running constantly on rough roads, but mine has been running perfectly for nine years now.

Mine works but it might be a little dimmer than it used it be.... hard to say.

I wonder how hard it is to replace the bulb... or LED. Whichever it is.

Thanks guys. Interesting, so far 50% had the issue. Its crazy that so many people have that issue and it is unknown if they ever fixed it.

It must be a bulb then rather than an LED, which is strange.

From what I heard, it is impossible to replace bulb or any LED. Its all built in somehow. I am really not sure how it works though. Someone said some diode needs replacement, but I don't know anybody who actually was able to fix it.

Nah it's not impossible... I can't find a picture of the board or the clock taken apart but my guess is its either an SMD LED or some small bulb soldered onto the board.

SMD LEDS can be hard to replace but it's not impossible. Ive replaced the LEDs in the start button and it's the same thing.

I'd like to know if the replacement clock has the lighting redesigned to be more durable, or will it eventually fail like the original clock?

I found a DIY for the G35. Anyone know if our 37's are similar?
