Turnsignal to DRL?

For those of you guys that have gotten in and around the headlight wiring...

One of the things that annoys me about my G is lack of DRL's. My TL had DRL's that were always on when in the "auto" position and I liked knowing I had the extra safety of those lights being on all the time. So I got to thinking, how difficult would it be to utilize a switchback bulb in the turn signal and then wire it to power on while my headlight switch is in the "auto" position?

So in short I'd like:
OFF- No lights
Auto- White DRL on in turn signal position (Yellow flash when turn signal is active)
On- Headlights & DRL on

Anybody attempted this and/or see problems with doing this?

Hmm, I think the wiring would be weird since the Auto switch is enabled by the light sensor. You'd have to wire them to the switch of the stock BEFORE it gets/reaches the sunload sensor. Sounds like a lot of big hands in small spaces with a hot iron..

Yeah I was thinking about that this morning. Im not easily scared off by wiring, perhaps I will look over the wiring schematic of my old TL to see how this was accomplished and then review the wiring of the G to see if I can make it work in a similar fashion. If I can plan it out well on paper I think I'd be in good shape.

I'm guessing its not something anyone has attempted before/yet.

What about running the fogs as DRLs?

That would require much less wiring.
