Question Water Leak on top of tweeter

Hey guys I just got my windshield replaced to an aftermarket windshield due to a large crack. Ever since I replaced my oem windshield with the aftermarket windshield water seems to leak on top of both the driver and passenger side tweeter every time it rains or if i washed my car. I took it back to the shop who replaced my windshield and they said it was the window trim gasket because they resealed the sides again and the leak still exists. They were able to stop the leak on the driver side but the passenger side still leaks.

But my main concern is that when i had my oem windshield it never leak so why all of a sudden would my window trim gasket will start to go bad?

what a hassle. i replaced w/ aftermarket windshield all the time & mine don't leak. i would say the place that you took it to didn't do a good job. their warranty should cover that.

how long ago did you get the windshield replaced? did you go to them immediately after you noticed the leak? never the less, they should warranty that.

i would ask them to fix it or take it somewhere else. hope all works out.

I just got it replaced less then a month ago. Yup the first sign of the leak i went straight to them the next day. They were able to fix the driver side but the passenger side still leaks. If i take it to the dealer i know for sure they will blame it on the aftermarket glass and will want me to replace it with an oem glass. So i rather not take that route.

i usually take mine to A & Z Auto glass. it is over by South 59 & Beltway 8. i did my replacment on 2003 G35 for about $130 & no problem.

I had the same problem only when I'm caught in heavy rain (not hand washing), I found a cracked bracket in the door that holds the rubber weather stripping.. I glued it temporary and I never drive in the rain so really haven't noticed it this summer. Let me know if I'm off base and the result of your research!!
Thanks

Do you happen to have a picture of the bracket that you are talking about?

Nope, not yet. I have taken some pictures of what i am talking about. It looks like the windshield place tried to silicone the door weatherstripping back on.

That doesnt look right

Driver side that does not leak anymore.

wow.. what a hack job. I guess if it works and its out of sight then awesome....

Ok where your finger is in the second pic I had some kind of rail that secured the weather stripping to the car.

Infiniti said they would only sell the whole weatherstripping which was in the hundreds..

Oh okay thanks, I'm going to search for a diagram now to see what you are talking about.
