Automatic heaadlights not working right.

When I pull out of my garage with the automatic headlight function on, the dash lights don't always go on. I have to play with the headlight switch to get the dash lights to go on. Sometimes they do go on by themselves after a long delay. What's the problem?

I have this same problem, right headlight won't turn on in auto setting i have to turn off and on then it comes on. Does anyone know what this problem is and what warranty it would be covered under. 09 G37 55k sedan. Just noticed some slight flickering as well.

If you have aftermarket headlight HID bulbs installed, then it's probably a bulb issue. I tried several lower priced bulbs that simply would not fire on the first try. I ended up biting the bullet and going with Osram, and no issues so far.

If you still have OEM bulbs, then it's most likely a ballast that's going bad.

I agree. I've tried the newer Morimoto bulbs, and they were hit or miss. I got 2 sets total, and on both sets, there was a bad bulb. One bulb out of each set worked perfectly, and the other didn't. Swapping them left to right, the problem follows the bulb.

My Osram CBI worked flawlessly the first time, and each time since. Buy one, cry once. Get the high end bulbs, if you replace your bulbs.

Question on that. If we buy a new infiniti, say q60, are the stock bulbs in the car already of great quality, or would the car have brighter lights going to cbi's.

I'm not sure what's in the Q60 from the factory. I'd guess it's a Philips bulb, which is of great quality and they're bright.

I think the Osrams may be brighter. At the very least, you can change your color temperature to a whiter color with less yellow in it.

Check out this link and read through that thread. It should compare what I believe to be the stock bulbs in your car (philips) to some aftermarket alternatives. I just can't confirm which bulbs you would have in the Q60.

I went in for servicing 2 weeks ago and the dealer told me they had a bulliten to check the wiring harness for the right headlight and fog lights shorting. They fixed the harness and replaced the fog bulb. I was having no issues.
