body shop paint matching problems
are you only going to cheap shops? This should not be hard. White is the hardest color to match, not black.
Out here in LA we can get away with shopping around a little bit, but body shop service is always "you get what you pay for" kind of service.
I always tell people, a body part is about $300 each piece. Lips and smaller pieces like spoilers are half the price at $150. Anything less than that, I would advise you to double and triple check their work/reviews.
Also pay with an Amex if you have one. They will fight for your money back.

The second time he repainted he paid for my rental out of pocket and he even suggested giving me my money back if he can't get it done right. But that just seems like another potential issue trying another new shop.
was you car painted before? or has the rest of the paint faded over time? when was the last time you detailed your car? I mean a full stage 1 or 2 level polish and wax by a professional.
even a cheap pos shop will be able to paint match black obsidian. only difference will be the durability of the cheap shop vs the skilled place.
if you had white then yes i agree its almost impossible to paint match 100%

the original paint looks pretty good no fading at all. Its just the new section that was painted it looks dull compared to the rest of the car..
Yea! i really think with all the experience this guys shop has they're gonna do what it takes to get it right. My last shot is to have another shop mix the paint.
I recently had a conversion with the body shop manager for a ultra high end body shop, Lambo, Porsche, McLaren, MB, BWM, Audi, Lexus, Jag certified - etc. They do not attempt to color match, they will only blend. As per his words if not then you'll be back in three weeks complaining that your paint doesn't match. They're not close to being cheap but you may need to go that route.

i'm ready to accept less than 100% but it should be pretty close to it..
