Ok so I took delivery to my new Q60 today, the car has the mb grille and rear spoiler. However I wasn't aware that such accessories are installed at the port herein the US upon arrival so the car leaves the factory with a rear window mounted 3rd brake light. Now I have 2 3rd brake lights and it may not seem like a insouciance to others but to me I'm kind of annoyed since I didn't have this issue with my previous coupes.

I want to remove the window mounted 3rd brake light so I was wondering what is needed to do so? I know I'll need a new panel that is flat but anyone have experience with this and perhaps part numbers or can point me in the right direction? Much appreciated.

 

People have done it ... do a search. It's costly for a new rear deck. Most just remove the bulb and tint the back window ... you really never give it much thought after.

 

found it, it will cost me about $200. It's fine, I had the guys tint over it so it ok for now but I feel rear window is restricted a bit due to the 3rd brake light and will be ordering the panel in the future. Little things annoy me, for those searching for this part in the future perhaps, here's the part number 79910JL11B (ensure it's the sports package with spoiler).

Keep checking ebay and craiglist but I got mine from fellow member.
