I did exactly what vaio mentioned, actually. Used the dremel to flatten two sides of the screw, grabbed onto it with a pair of vice grips, and torqued it off of there. I can tell the clear lenses are going to be MUCH nicer and will provide a much cleaner output.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing the final product. Definitely interested to see your cutoff as compared to mine.

 

I am too curious. The guys at ONEighty told me to use the supplied metal spacer so I used it. When tightening, I alternated torquing each screw down so hopefully it looks good!

 

Fresnel vs clear lens. You get more light spread with Fresnel and a blurry cut-off. clear lens = less light spread, sharper cut-off

 

I modified a CPU powersupply to test my lights in my house. I messed around with spacing for 30 min before I found the sweet spot. I recommend checking the output before sealing everything up.

 

I wish I had something around to test my setup here. Sure would be nice. I really don't know what I can use to test my setup without sealing them and putting them in my car.

Any thoughts?

 

Just hook them up to your car without the top plastic.

Just checked on the housings - they're coming along nicely! I'll let them sit for another 24 hours - they still feel a bit sticky.

They are definitely darker/blacker in person. Pic was taken with my Kobalt projector flashlight aimed at it, plus an iPhone flash.

I totally forgot to do something about the orange reflectors. I toyed with the idea of not painting them, held them up to the housings, And it just didn't work for me.

Luckily I had a spare can of VHT night shade sitting around. Just painted those things dark, very dark. Should have just used black spray paint in fact, LOL.

Well, I'll let those cure until tomorrow night and then work on getting the headlights sealed up. Can't believe I forgot about those darn reflectors. Headlight seal could be curing right.

 

can you guys measure or provide measurements of the turn signal circle? I'm looking at LED rings right now, and nowhere does it state which LED rings the turn signals use.

I know the low beam shroud uses 80 mm so far. Thanks!

 

Be careful with the projector shrouds. You can use either 80mm or 90mm. It all depends on how you're mounting them and what you want them to look like.

I plan on redoing my headlights and am going to test mounting the halos inside the shroud and drilling holes within the shrouds

Also, I'd recommend something to you and all others - when painting the headlight housing, many recommend to NOT paint the ridges/ripples under the projector lens. Leave it chrome. It will begin to bubble over time.

 

Also as for the turn signal size, I'm thinking the smallest size (60mm) is needed. I'm going to call TRS and ONEighty and get two opinions on that.
