It came with some cardboard rings. I didn't see a convenient way to seat them in without obstructing the lens. The lens does not have screws holding the ring down, as it seems to have in that picture. Instead, the aluminum ring fits over the lens and overlaps a few divots in the frame. A bit of hammering deforms the ring into the divot and secures the lens. I was not impressed with this design.

Looks good GoFightNguyen! The pics look filtered? Do you have any "true color" photos?

Yeah, I was messing with the camera to try and make the rings show up and forgot to turn it off. I'll take more pics next time I go to the car

After the research I've done regarding what spacer to use for my STi-R lenses, I reached out to ONEighty for some help. I PM'd ClickClackSmack asking how he did his lenses, and he told me that ONEighty took care of them.

I reached out to Alex @ ONEighty regarding some tips and help for what to do with spacing the STi-R lenses on our sedans. I sent him two of ClickClackSmack's pictures from Page 1 of this thread as a reference. This was his reply:
"We do use the provided metal spacer but I gotta say it's tight fit. You'll need to have the projector off and facing up to the ceiling. After removing the old lens, you'll put the spacer on, then the lens on top. While holding it in place, you'll put the bracket on that holds the lens on the projector and it'll look almost like it doesn't fit. But it just needs to be bolted down tightly. The metal bracket will even bend a little to accommodate the spacer being there."
With that being said, I'll be working with the provided metal spacer as they verified I can achieve that nice blue cutoff I'm looking for. Regardless, the light output will be much better, especially with the Xenarc bulbs I'll be tossing in as well.

I didn't use a spacer, the cutoff is okay and I've got a little bit of color flicker on the edges.

So I was tired of waiting for my spare shrouds to get processed and shipped and ended up calling TRS. They had one spare set laying around that I picked up for a very fair price.

So far, the debate for me is in which way should I turn them into DRL shrouds. I've mocked up the second image below with two options:

Option 1 being the side slits that peek through to the front of the shroud. This will give a cool look from the side but not so much directly looking at the lights.

Option 2 being the larger holes on the front of the shroud was my original choice for a DRL. I've contemplated doing all the larger circles, half of the larger circles, a mix between larger and smaller circles - it's definitely a tough decision.

Looking to get some input from you all before I start cutting these things up.

Just to clarify, you're replacing the OEM shrouds?

I say do option 2, definitely. Maybe cut out the side slits so some light shines through, but the main source of light should be the front.

There's plenty of room if you decide to replace your OEM shrouds, not so much otherwise.

These are OEM shrouds, well maybe OEM-style.

I did toy with the idea of doing the side slits AND the front circles as well. I have these two spare shrouds to test and tear apart so I can perfect what I'm looking for before I thrash the OEM shrouds on my car. Heck if these spares turn out well, I can just use them on my car.

So my headlight project is happing this weekend. I'll be spending today pulling the bumper off, removing the headlights, and removing all bulbs, harnesses, and other removable items from the housings themselves. I'll also be separating the lenses from the housing, and getting to whatever else I can get to.

I've seen a few other threads, specifically this one. Vaio23 did a great job on his lights and I love how the semi gloss paint worked with the color. Because we have the same color, I'm almost inclined to use the same paint. That was the idea, until I came across the paint I found below. I feel like the color would go really well with my Platinum Graphite paint. I'm going to do a few test samples later today/tomorrow morning to see how it turns out on plastic - was thinking I could paint those extra shrouds I have... We'll see.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear some opinions on this paint color matching to PG.

Good luck Conner, if the paint matches that color on the can it should look great!
BTW you are going w/ the STiR lenses right? Be sure to space them out enough.
