After looking through every post of the thread I'm still not certain of something. Is wire splicing required for ALL installations on G sedans or only for newer models? Specifically, is it plug and play for 09 G sedans? Can anyone confirm this definitively?

I've got an 09 and had to splice. I didn't see any other way it would work without the T-wire, which was the only thing these budget kick plates didn't include. I did something very similar (footwell LEDs) on my old 04 G35 and never had any problems.

Yep, if you pay more some kits include an adapter so you don't need to splice. I installed the "Skyline" kick plate that didn't have the adapter either and what is worst is the instruction was in Japanese and they were meant for a right handed drive. So lucky I already have the wiring setup when I switch over to these.

When I was installing these (confused, and frustrated not to find that stupid plug) I called two dealerships, one in CA, and Orlando Infiniti to try to make sense of where this stupid little plug goes..come to find out these kits didnt have the "t-harness" that was/are supplied with the factory OEM kits..Speaking to the rep's both looked at the "M" and "Fx" installations at pointed out the "t-harness to the BCM", which I didnt have the ''T-harness"...
My conclusion is...these are either Knock offs, or for another model, maybe that new J crossover...But i have no idea about these puppies...
Im going to the dealership today, I might ask one of my buddies there to check out the OEM stills

mystikal, have you had a chance to talk to the dealer about these kits. I also agree that either these are knock offs, or OEM overstock. If they indeed overstock, at $100 it's a good deal. I wonder if T-hardness can be bought separately from Infiniti. My other concern is that if these are not originally for G37, whether the rear sill will fit properly. I would imagine it's highly unlikely that sills are the same between M, G and J...

It seems that these are truly Plug n Play ONLY for 2012 sedan.
Check this out.

I'm assuming these sills aren't knock offs.

The rear sills fit just perfectly. They are just a tad bigger than the stock ones but fit ok on my 2010 sedan.

I put these on and I had no problems, yes you have to cut and splice which is not hard, as long as you follow mysticals diagram/picture you will be in good shape.
They look OEM, they have good LED and I see no signs of them being knock offs

But if they are knock off I dont really care they look good enough and who is selling knock offs for 100 bucks anyways.

BTW my .2, My friend who was helping me do the install, he did them on a 09 G37 coupe and he said they are the exact same box and everything, he himself had ordered them from the dealer because I asked if he thought they were knock offs or anything, he said everything was same except for 1 thing. The ones he did on the coupe was plug and play and they came with the connector.

also who really cares if they are knock offs, my gf stepped on them already, pissed me off but they are bound to be stepped on. there was a puddle of water on the ground.

He was baffled when he didnt see a connector in there.
