Blew Fuse installing LED Glove Box LED (HELP! Where is that fuse?)
Blew Fuse installing LED Glove Box LED (HELP! Where is that fuse?)
Installing LED Glove Box Light. I just read/Saw the same post from another guy that bought my LED's and put the glove box in and blew his fuse.
Someone responded it was called the "illuminate fuse", On the side of battery? BUT, never said what fuse or Number???
I see the rectangle fuse box in front of battery and checked fuses and all looked OK, a FEW have 3 fuses in ONE big fuse and it's hard to tell?
My REAR back up lights are also out, which is also what happened at the same time from that other guy that poste. He said his glove box light flickered when he installed it and flashed.
Trying to figure what fuse it is. I know its a fuse cause the back ups are out too. My stock Glove Box light doesn't work either so I think the LED is still OK, just had a surge when I installed the bright LED.
Anyone knwo what fuse (#) and where it's located. I am looking now for what fuse for back up lights.
I am NOW also going to check the fuse panel by the Parking Brake on the driver's side.

Page 8-20 to 8-22 of the owners manual has the location of the fuse box inside the car.
Drivers side lower left. The cover of the panel should have the fuse numbers/descriptions. Just look for the one that is blown and replace it.

Answered my own question:
I guess there IS a Fuse Box BEHIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man I am smart, we'll see how smart I am in about 20 minutes if it works?
Ok so in steps,
- remove battery cover
- remove the cowl cover behind the battery, it's 2-3 clips
- there's another fuse box on the wall, on the left side. You'll see it when you take the cowl cover off. It's the 4-5th down in the 1st column on the left. Just check the 10 amp fuses in the 1st column.
Hope that helps. Let me know if u have any more questions.
If the fuses are still good,'try disconnecting the battery for couple minutes as a last case scenario.
Good luck!

It was a BITCYYYACH to take all the clips out, took out like 12 to get to the fuse box, which is really hard.
I didn't see any blown fuses? I mean if someone told me exactly which one, I can figure this out.
I've been messing with this 90 minutes, all because of a friggin glove box light I had out in 15 minutes.

OK, what a Pain in the neck. I LOOKED at the 10 Fuse and it LOOKED fine, but replaced it anyway and the back up lights came back on. I fixed it. Man that fuse box is hard to get to. I took half the car apart.
Now if I did it again I could have done it fast!, BUT, 1st times not fun on anything.

Also spent an hour this morning trying to get to a clip that I dropped near the battery well. Got it, now got to put globve box back together since I am going to dealer tomorrow for 7 speed reprogram.

Hahha. You guys make me laugh so hard! Those clips are the easiest clips to remove from all the cars I had worked on. All you need is a small flat head screw driver. How hard can that be?
Not the clips. I didn't see one and thought it was attached by all 10, so I actually had to remove the trim to get access to get the fuse box open.
Have to do it to understand. I can take out those clips in 2 seconds.

Glad someone acknowledged my Genius, and without any help is right.

. It took awhile for the genius to kick in, AND again the fuse I replaced LOOKED FINE! No Brokken at all, but I am sure it was slightly broken, just not easily visible.Thansks!

Sorry that I jdidnt get the chance to see this thread, or I be telling you about the fuse box under the hood..
Mine too, the illumination plate led went off, I look at all e fuse and it looks good. I guess I'll find a time and do the same as you... Replace all the fuse, even if they look okay...
