Exactly. There is a mat in the seat that is basically a peltier "heat pump", or commonly called TED (thermo electric device), that heats and cools based on direction of DC current. How it works and how effective/ efficient it is goes way above my pay grade. The use of the mat is much easier than trying to snake plumbing from the HVAC to the seats.

If it works and you are happy with it then "Keep Cool and Drive On!"

Next someone will want to find a way to add "massaging seats." 🤔

here's a link to a thread thread370z.com forum that helped me figure out the wiring

And the cooling works via a magic "piezo" plate.
Run DC current across it one way it cools, and the other it heats.
Combine hat with some fans and some fart channels in the seat foam, you get cooled or heated seats!
I've got mine set up with a toggle to run just the fans if I want.
I thought the the plate used a Peltier/thermoelectric effect (changing current direction for hot/cold)? Seems that someone would build aftermarket kits to add this feature to any seat (upholstery shop needed)?

Ok, so it is Peltier and not mechanical energy being used. Reminds me of the 80s when nice cars had those thick vinyl or velour seats. One could soak a shirt and pair of drawers in 15 minutes on a humid summer day.

Or, as many seats in the 60s/70s were vinyl/ plastic, you had a veritable "slip-and-slide" in the backseat (ask me how I know, lol). This was at a time when backseats were as large, or larger, than some couches, seat belts weren't mandatory and who had grandparents that were natural-born speed demons. Oh, the good old days...

Ok, back to topic.

This is great, I am planning to install the Sport 370z seats and that wiring should help give me a start.

My grandmother then my mom had a Buick Electra 225. Black vinyl seats, large speaker in the center of the seat blaring what we now refer to as "Yacht Rock". Good times.
