Question Trunk gaps?

Hey -

I noticed where my decklid/trunk meets the rear quarter panel on the edge by the tail light, there is a slightly bigger gap than the right side. The gap between the entire quarter panel and the decklid is also a bit bigger on the left side. The dealer messed with it for a few days and even had an Infiniti engineer check it out. They kept adjusting but when they made the left smaller the right just got bigger.

They told me it is what it is. I kind of agree because I remember when I had my e92 BMW 335i, everyone bitched about how uneven the hood gaps and other gaps on the car were from the factory and un-fixable.

Do any of you guys have uneven gaps where the decklid meets the tail/quarter panel? I have a 2011 G37S vert limited edition. Thanks

Did you try adjusting it yourself?

I want to but I don't even know where to start due to all the vert hardware. Is there Diy or guide/manual?

Sorry, missed your follow up. I didn't notice cat first that you have a vert. I don't know if its the same as the coupe. But on the coupe there are a couple of bolts on either side where the trunk lid is mounted to the hinges that can be adjusted a little bit.

hmm.. yea the vert has way more bolts and crap under there.. I might just try a different dealer. Another member said he had this problem and the dealer replaced all his trunk shims. My dealer kept re-using the old ones.

I'm not familiar with the vert but if you were to post up some good photos it's possible that someone might be able to guide you.
