If you're scared of an insurance premium increase, I'd recommend you go to a junkyard and buy a windshield off a totaled G. It would most likely cost you no more than $100-150.
If you're calling places in Ottawa, they all use same brand PPG I believe. I got mine replaced at General Auto Glass and was fully covered under Insurance with no deductible. But this was for a coupe and for an 08 there was no rain sensing wipers. It might be little bit more for that.
Apple Auto, Speedy, UniglassPlus they're all same. The one I went with was recommended by local Infiniti dealer as they use them as well.

Glass cracks/spidering is always worse in a Vert due to the lack of roof support for lateral pressures..

These are called smart cracks... in my coupe it went from an inch to 12 " in a day, and the crack in the vert's windshield glass should propagate faster due to lack of support unlike a coupe's.
