Dashboard Mount?

Has anyone tried to install a phone or GPS dashboard mount in their G37? They're the ones that install with a round sticky disc to hold the suction cup.

I'd like to know whether the sticky disc will cause any damage to the dash if I try to remove it later (I have a 3M sticky disc, if that matters).

I bought one of these but I can't mount it to my windshield since it's illegal in CA:

most more than likely that part of your dash will leave unwanted adhesive. it'll be very hard to remove due to the sun heating it up more than what it's design to do. i would avoid sticking anything there.

edit: i just looked at the link. you can use the suction cup on the windshield and it'll do no harm.

Unfortunately, our stupid laws in California prevent things from being attached to the windshield This is why I'm looking for a dash-mounted solution.

This looks really cool, but kinda pricey ($30!)
