I quoted jovercetti because I was referring to the glass amazon fogs he listed. The product page he linked says wiring and switch included. Im curious if the harness was still necessary or the kit included what is needed.

Im aware also of the rock fogs, factory fogs and the acdelco harness.

I went ahead and ordered the same fogs as the 2011 IPL, should be here today from Amazon.

This might help others by keeping neat, and using minimal wiring:

On the drivers side under the hood, there is a relay box with open slots.
Good place to drop in the Bosch relay, power can be tapped from an open connector in there, that was meant for the Climate Controlled Seats (Which are only on verts). It has no relay attached!
Spade connector from the 12V beige wire slot to pin 30 of the relay. The relay pin 85 can be grounded right on the fender well, using existing ground point.
Pin 87 feeds the fogs.
Then all you need is either a trigger feed from your existing fogs, or in my case from the running lights to pin 86. I will run a switch to the dash from the trigger feed.

I spliced mine into the 2008 factory fogs on the headlight and just disconnected the ground from the original fog light.

Read my post #842.

The relay is needed. (seriously, do not tap into another system to power fogs)

The switch is optional. Without it the fogs are on with parking lights.
With it, you can turn them off.

See my previous post, running lights, relay, with an optional switch.

There is a small unused rubber grommet on the firewall at 5 o'clock to the brake booster, looking from the front, run your wires through there.

What's the problem with tapping into another system for the fogs? Not trying to mess anything up. I had HIDs hooked up to them.

No problem at all, if done right you should not have any issues. I wire mines with my parking lights, I have hid's no issues at all. Best part all my current bulbs still work like before nothing was affected by me adding the new fogs.

Not for now, at least!!!

There's a reason why systems are segregated, and isolated from each other.

To paraphrase you:
