Center lights don't work
Center lights don't work
Hi all,
Recently got the car back from the shop after 2 weeks of repair...I got rear ended pretty bad in a parking lot, and also had some side damage from a previous incident. I got it all fixed while I was getting the insurance claim done.
Anyways tonight I realized driving at night (first time since I got the car back) that the middle console lights didn't turn on. The top little led was out, the purple on the clock, and all the radio/ac lights. The dash lit up fine...
I know the shop replaced my tail lights, and parts of my trunk. I'm going to call them tomorrow, to tell them what's going on...but was wondering if there is anyway possible I may have done this, by hitting something, etc. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't actually a way to turn these off by mistake.
Also what could have caused these lights to go out, after the shop fixed my car? They worked fine when I brought it in...and the major damage was just the trunk/back bumper/etc

Whoa...
So tonight after driving a hour home from work (in the dark) I get out of the car to inspect all the lights, and realize the tail lights are completely out! My brake lights work fine, but the tail lights don't turn on with the headlights. I had a few people high beam on the way home, and didn't even think anything of it...
I was going to go back to the auto body shop, but their weekend hours are like 4 hours on Saturday, and closed Sunday. The dealership is open for 12 hours on Sunday and they give loaners out very easily. Is it stupid to bring it to the dealership? I feel like I'd rather just bring it to them, before the auto body place makes any more problems...
Also if it is a blown fuse...Would the stealership charge a ton to fix?
Thanks!

Thats definitely a blown fuse. Your fuse for your tail lamps is blown. You should also notice that the gauges do not change brightness level when you turn on the headlights. Thats a tell tell sign the the tail light fuse is blown. Happened to me on my maxima after it was rear ended. Just check the fuse box under the dash or the one under the hood near the battery and see what type of fuse it is. Most cars have spare fuses located inside the fuse box. If not, take the blown fuse to the auto parts store and get a replacement. Not expensive at all.

This happened to me as well just recently. My 2009 Infiniti G37x got rear ended and they had to replace the bumper. I got the car back and the center console lights and tail lights were out. Brought the car back to body shop, told them just about the tail lights. They said it was a fuse, replaced it and voila everything was back to normal - tail lights and center console. Infiniti dealer wanted to replace the entire center console unit for 800 bucks!
