Doesn't seem like much of a savings. And you retain the option of putting the stock one back on if you get sick of the black.

 

True, but I think the stock chrome grille is hideous, so I won't be putting it back on

I originally bought a midnight black grille, and had my spare chrome grille painted years later. I'll flip one when I get rid of the car.

The other added bonus of getting it painted is getting rid of the chrome surround.

 

Pay $170 to get current stock chrome grille painted

$180-190 for another stocker if you wanted to swap for grand total of = $360

Midnight black grille = $329.00 on Ebay before shipping.

Get it painted custom to your standards for $170 and never feel the urge to throw the stocker back in and you're ahead $150 roughly. If not, and you want stock look back, then the worse case scenario is you break even?

Why would you get the $329 over the $179?

When I check any of the $300ish ones on ebay, they only have 1 picture of the grille installed.

The $179 ones have a bunch of pictures from all angles. It looks just like the ones everyone has; with the chrome surrounds.

 

I've only seen the OEM one go for $300 or so. Otherwise, fitment is a gamble. You sure the $179 one isn't one someone just painted...?

Was just looking this up myself. genuinenewparts.com has it for $284 + shipping and parts.com has it for $287 + shipping
