Can only tint back windows.. should I do it?
Can only tint back windows.. should I do it?
I live in NJ, so I can only tint the back windows and the rear window. What do you guys think of that look? Not worth tinting at all?
same here in IL...
can only tint rear half. After much debate, I decided not to tint at all. I'd love 35% on the 4 doors and back window, but don't want to risk being pulled over.
Not sold on the half-car tint job. My vote is no tint.

Just so you know in Illinois they just passed a tint law that lets you get 35% on all your windows except your windshield. My coupe is tinted 35% all the way around and have never been pulled over.
As of now, I am leaning towards no tint or possible 50% tints in the back and rear.
I'm in PA and going 50% all around. I see all sorts of Mercedes, BMW, Infiniti, Audi, etc. rolling around the Main Line with 50% or 35% all around. I can't imagine all of these folks are getting harassed by cops and still rocking that tint.
I thought that the law was vetoed by governor and switched to 50% instead of 35% tint. The references I see to the new IL tint law mentioning 35% allowed all around (except for windshield) are old.
this is for the back window and the rear windows?
that's pretty close to everyone else's laws.
35% in the back and and 50% in the front isn't that bad. that's what most people run anyways.

the IL law is 35% all around or if you have anything darker than 35% on the back windows then you can only have 50% on the side front windows.
Do you have a link for this? The local PD in DuPage County had no idea. The information online seems to be conflicting about 35% vs. 50% allowed up front.
I mean I could do 35% front and 50-100% in the rear. Not worried about being pulled over FOR that, but it would suck to get pulled over for something else and then get smacked with a tinted window ticket. I suppose I could lower the front windows when I get pulled over.
I've hesitated doing anything because of all the conflicting information here. I was going to talk to our local PD and the staties to see what the real deal is but I haven't really had time to put towards it.
You're right though...the tint is EVERYWHERE around here.
