I live in Tulsa, OK. Never had a problem with tint and the police. And just don't drive at night! haha.

 

Its cause of the phone laws is what the cops telling me, these ****ers just want more money.

 

new law just went into affect here. no texting or phone calls for 16-21 year olds, which i think is slightly pointless to single out just that age group. But with tints so dark, they cant see if i'm on the phone!

But I curious about one thing: If 5% all the way around and 18% on the windshield are OK with you, what percent on your windshield would you consider silly?

 

Hmmm, guys so how did ya'll pay for a decent tint job and how long does it usually take?

 

I used to have a red g35 couple with 50% red tint (cool while it lasted), but had wished I went with a darker black tint... so now I have a silver g37 coupe with 20% black tint and 15% top windshield....sometimes I wish I went with 15% all around though, but I believe the law for broward county florida is 20%. so it works.

 

I have 25% all around. I don't tint my windshield. I have to agree with some of the comments going dark makes it tough to see at night. I find myself rolling my windows down at night backing out of the garage so I can see correctly. I don't want to hit my SUV while backing up.

cops don't really pull people over any more for tints. I live in MD.

 

Seriously. Wow man...I love tint...but that just isn't safe...

 

Im 18 and personally never txt when i drive. 90% of the time i see someone txting, its older women (40ish) driving a huge navigator or escalade, swerving in and out of her lane staring at he phone.

 

Texting by anybody while driving is illegal in California. I’m not sure about the other States.

But the way I see it, one might as well text with 18% on the windshield because the driver can’t see anything outside anyway. Perhaps when the airbags go off it’s time to put down the phone.

 

15% all around and love it Car without tints is like a fish tank lol, just waiting for somebody to tap on the window and say " Fishy, fishy, fishy, fishy" )))

 

I hate texting or even making phone calls while driving, I'm with you. People don't realize how much focus it takes off the road. I also like using my 6MT as an excuse to not talk to people while driving, keeps them from bugging me.

 

That's just hateful.

 

im a window tinter i own a shop in west babylon ny.... the percentage laws are complete bull****, considering nys tint law is 74% which is practically clear. i have 5% all around with nano 20% on the windsheild, cool thing about this film is that it gets lighter at night to 50% and then returns to dark 20% when the sun is out. really cool stuff. but exspensive. here is a couple pics

 

That tint sounds awesome...but 20% on your windshield during the day though? I hate to pull my age(and I'm not even old...just older than most of you) and sound like the old fart on this site, but that along with 5% around just doens't sound safe to me.
