Window Tint

I got 35% front and back and 30% on the door windows and I'm really impressed with the results. At first, I also have no idea about the types and % of tints until a friend recommended http://www.TintBuyer.com. They provide me relevant information about window tints such as its types, quotations, laws involve in every state and helped me find the best professional tinter near my area!

I just got home from having the G tinted. I went with carbon film. He put 35% on front doors and 18% on rear doors and back window. I had the driver's side front door window checked, when he was done. It checked 28%. I was curious because I had read that the factory glass comes with something like 78%, before you put additional tint on it. 28% is what the limit is in Florida.

Are you happy with the color of the carbon? I have my appointment on Saturday and the guy talked me into Carbon vs what they call Color Stable. Yes the G is factory tinted (just roll down the window 1/2 way and look out, very obvious) just didn't know to what degree. Here in MD it's 35% combined so I'm going with 45% Carbon. Saw that on a black car with a black interior and it looked darker than 45% so should look OK on Blue Slate with Black interior. On the tint guys wall with samples, 50% Color Stable looked darker than 45% Carbon.... go figure.

I'm very happy with the color of the carbon tint and the percentage of tint, with my Graphite Shadow paint.
I would have to see another G37, with GS paint and a different type film, side by side with mine, to choose which film I would think looked the best.
I even had a hard time deciding how dark of a tint to go with. I told the guy, when I got there ,that I wanted to go 35% all around.
He thought it would look better with 35% on the front door glass and 18% on the rest of the glass. At the last minute, after he had done the front door glass with 35% and had done the rough cut for the rear doors using 35%, I told him to go with the 18% instead, on the rear doors and rear window. It's getting where every little decision I have to make, becomes a major ordeal.

I have 35% all the way around with a carbon color and it looks great and I am pleased with it. It definitely helps with the sun during the day and is still pretty easy to see out of at night. I am over 40 now and don't see as good at night as I did 20 years ago. That was a consideration for this old timer.

45% all the way around (Carbon), there is something on the windshield. Not sure what it is but it's legal. I frankly didn't want the below legal hassle. Not like the coupe is an "ignore" type of car for the police.

I just got 35% 3M tint all around, looks great. I had the exact same setup on my old Altima and never had any issues here in Maryland. Technically 35% tint w/ the slight factory tint drops below the MD legal limit of 35% but I'm sure it's not too much. 50% was the only other option at this place and it's not worth getting it IMHO.

I just got mine done today. I chose 20% all the way around. 35% is legal in CT, but on my last car even with the black interior I felt that the 35% was too light. The tint guy told me that because most vehicle manufacturers pre tint the windows with a light tint (I think I read in this thread that infinity does 78%?) that 35% isn't actually 35% anymore. He said the tint manufacturers actually make it lighter to compensate for that factory tint.

Looks good. The 2nd picture looks like a carbon fiber tint w/ the reflection. 1st one ever!
