Rear View Mirror Auto Dim

Currently the rear view mirror auto dim is on by default. Is there a way to set it to be off by default? I've already got tint on my windows so it just makes everything even darker at night. If not, I'll just keep manually turning it off.

Default is ON. Can't change it unless you do some messing on the circuit board in the mirror.

I've got the Solar Guard brand. 15% on the rear window and 20% on the 4 sides windows. With the dimmer on it makes it a little hard for me to recognize headlights behind me. Gotta watch out for the Law Givers!

Seriously? You'd think with technology these days youd be able to hold down the power button when it turns on to reset it to OFF when the car starts.

Has anyone found a way to have the default set to OFF?

Because I know what the undercover police headlights look like in my area. And I like to know when one is following me and the green/anti glare crap impedes my ability to do so.

Same here...I know what "Bodine's" headlights look like too...plus when it's on, I can't see the silhouettes of the cars behind me, and I need to see the silhouettes so I can tell if any of the cars behind me have lights on the roof! This is very necessary and effective in avoiding tickets. One of the first things I do is turn it off once I start the car.
