Hi all, first post to this forumn . Great idea on the lights, thanks for the info.

I've been thinking of getting the illuminated Kickplate but I'd want to change out the bulb for a Red LED since I have a Red G. I was just wondering if anyone has tried to replace this bulb yet and know the specs.

Has anyone noticed any issues replacing the lights, I read one post where he said the map lights never went off all the way and glowed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Thats by design, there will always be voltage on that circuit. They're on, but you cant notice them unless you actually try to.

if you're talkin bout the door lights, just use a flathead screwdrivre, put a piece of cloth over it, and gently pry off, they surprising are easily maybe start with the bottom first, then the top

i used pliers with lots of tape =D sticky side out so it would hold onto the bulb so i wouldnt put to much pressure on it also im in NJ and its snowing like a mother right now.. lol the things i do for my car in the snow just to change bulbs i actually have 5led bulbs i JUST ordered 12leds because its not as bright as i would like on the inside im basically doing what the first poster did except with UV lights including the back licence plate will post pics when my other set of bulbs get here

I grabbed mine out with a needle nose pliers and gentle grip. They came out with no problems. When I did it, it was too cold and I couldnt get a grip on the bulb, so that is why I used a pliers.

i just did it with the cloth screwdriver method slowly withalittle pressure it popped out, cus i think direct metal to glass more prone to breaking as the cloth provides a little damper

I think i might end up just sticking with traditional (superwhite) incandescent bulbs...
Only time will tell. I'll let you guys know how long they last.
And as for that...just save the old incandescent bulbs and reinstall them if the LEDs fail : )
