Head unit Replacement
Head unit Replacement
Hi all just got hold of a 2007 nissan v36, as far as im aware same car as the g37 but different badge, i am looking at replacing the head unit in it as it's still stock and mostly in japanese with no bluetooth, is it a need to purchase these ones or getting them imported or can i just go to the local car parts shop and grab a head unit from there that'll fit, will it integrate or does the system need these imports
Congrats on the purchase, that should be a great car! So it's a Skyline 250, 350 or 370? Sedan or coupe? Do you see the word "Bose" on the front panel of the head unit? There are folks in here who know what needs to be done but we'll be guessing a bit because the JDM versions were always different from US specs. Over here, beginning around '06 our cars all came with hands-free bluetooth for phones but if you didn't get the Navigation package you couldn't stream music...

Benjy,
Being your car is JDM-spec there is little we can do here on this forum. While a lot is identical to USDM-spec cars, there are several differences in the wiring between the 2 versions. Add in CARWINGS, ETS, and the other Japanese specific tech we would be flying blind.
You may have more luck and info available to you over on the Skyline Australia forums as they have imported many JDM cars and have addressed several issues therein.
Here is one thread that I found relevant to your query.
