Aftermarket head unit

Anybody have an aftermarket head unit installed. I'm looking at the Pioneer AVIC-X930BT and wondering if it's going to fit fine and if anyone has run into any installation problems. I'm not tech savy so I will have a stereo installer do the job but, want to make sure it will look good. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I am pretty sure thats the unit I have in my Z. I had it installed and everything right down to the steer wheel controls work great. I am just not sure how it would work in a G. What year do you have and do you have nav right now? If you want to see mine in the Z just let me know. So far I really like the unit.

Edit: That is the unit I have in my Z and in looking at my G I am just not sure how it would work.

Umm, yeah....everything is integrated into that screen.

Think about it--climate control temps, fan settings, radio station...

Anything can be done with money but what you're talking about is very likely cost prohibitive for most G owners.

They don't make a dash kit for the g37.

I've asked multiple shops on what I could go with, but because our stock unit is in l Ike 3 pieces there isn't anything that would work.

Remember, this is coming from multiple custom car audio shops.

Well that's not the news I wanted to hear. Any other options for my G? It's a base 2009 sedan so it doesn't even have Bluetooth which is killing me.

I wonder if you can swap a HU from a premium or nav package. I would look into that.

I know Modme was able to swap his pre 2010 HU to the newer 2010 HU.

I've been on a few G forums a while now and owned a 2nd gen since they came out.
There are no good aftermarket systems that can replace the OEM setup.
This might be something that interest you.

And it looks butt ugly. Looks like they modeled it off of a car 15 years older.

Lol not even that... look's like a Nintendo NES controller

Even that one look's better...

There is some impressive engineering behind the idea but the design is a big letdown...

2010 G37 Stereo VS 2013 G37 Stereo

Can someone tell me what if any differences there are in a 2013 G37X stereo Vs an older 2010?

And can you take a 2013 stereo and install it in a 2010 G37?

Hahaha! I actually think the NES controller looks better. I wish there was a good aftermarket option, but pretty tough to do when everything is integrated like that.
