Nifty City Tesla Screen and Ecutek
Anyone using the Nifty City Tesla Screen and the Ecutek app? Need some help getting them connected.
Nifty city's tablet screen is locked into Android 11. Ecutek says they support Androud 11 but it depends on how the manufacturer setup the OS. Nifty city says they don't support 3rd party apps but "other customers have figured it out". I'm still struggling with it. Any assistance is appreciated.

Not sure how helpful I can be as Android has become a hot mess lately, but I can try.
1) What NiftyCity unit do you have?
2) What method are you using to install the app (direct installer, sideload, ADB)?
3) What exactly is the error you are encountering?
4) In Android settings, have you checked the box "Install Unknown Apps?"
5) What file manager app is this unit using (ties to #2)?

2. "Failed to connect to vehicle interface"
3. I don't see that option in security. The app is already installed from the play store though.
4. ES File Explorer
Thanks alot!
OK, gotcha. I mis-interpreted your post as I was under the impression that you could not get the app to install.
Sounds to me that there might be a missing permission flag somewhere. I would suggest you scroll through the different settings and make sure that all necessary permissions are set properly. Android 10+, along with their scoped storage nonsense has, of late, made certain permissions "one time" while others have "auto reset." Check the permissions for the ECUTEK app.
I wish I had a better solution. Perhaps others will have better ideas.
