Backup camera and reverse lights not working

Hey need some insight please. I have a 6MT my backup camera no longer works, or both of my reverse lights when going into reverse. If I go into hidden settings menu, I am able to see and adjust camera angles. I recently had my engine replaced on my 08 g37s coupe. I bought a complete engine with harness off a wrecked 2016 370Z. Everything from that engine went into my car. Nissan was also diagnosing my car before my engine went completely bad and they dropped the transmission and put it back in. After Nissan put everything back on the car I had it towed to the mechanics house who did the engine replacement. All he did was remove engine and replace. After picking up car from his house is when I noticed camera wasn’t turning on. Later realized the reverse lights were not turning on either.

Now I went ahead and ordered a new reverse light switch, replaced the old one and made sure it was tight, plugged it in put everything back together and put my car into reverse and nothing. I know there isn’t a fuse like in the automatics.. there’s only the reverse light switch that triggers the camera and reverse lights so I’m out of options. Anyone know what else can be causing this?

As far as the 370Z and the G37 go, the wiring is 99% the same. Hell, even the M37 is almost identical (trust me, I know for certain). Only for a few feature-specific items are there any differences. For the hell of it I pulled the manuals for the 2008 G37 and the 2013 370Z:

You can see the schematics are practically identical- even after 5 years.

Being that this problem is three years old and the OP has not been active in over one year, it is safe to assume the camera issue didn't make or break his car.

The only reason I made this post was to inform people because I didn’t know the information before yesterday and I have been trying to find out for like two months

The engine replacement should have no bearing on this issue unless other items were replaced/ changed during the swap.

Either way, is your issue resolved?

Thanks for pointing that out. I still do not see how swapping the engine would have any impact on that circuit, but... you're up and running so that is all that matters.

Welcome to site, btw, lol.
