Aftermarket USB ports DIY

Thought I would show my dual USB port adapter i added where the blank was in between the heated seat switches. Very simple install and looks factory to me. This went into my 2008 G37S coupe. The adapter i got off eBay was only about 7 bucks from China. Says it fits NISSAN and this was a close fit to perfect. Just had to file a side down for the fit where the blank went. Not hard at all.

I searched the forums and did not see anyone with this. Sorry if this is something everyone has viewed.

Might help others if you explain how you did this with steps...hence the DIY.
I'm terrible when it comes to wiring so I wouldn't even try.

That's actually a really cool find.

Is this the one you used? I like the little blue backlit arrows on yours.

That's really cool! Nice work.

You seem to have forgotten the DIY though.

There was another thread about this last year. Chosen location was the switch bank on the left side of the dash (where the trunk/traction/sonar buttons are). I think that's a better location as it keeps the phone at eye level if mounted at the lower left corner of the windshield. Keeps cable clutter to a minimal too.

Yeah... i figured i should have documented the install but was excited to get it in. To be honest when I first hooked it up I tested wires in the compartment for hot and found it right off. Now, i did this in the garage....so you might know where I am going. I got out of the garage and started down the road.. and it stopped charging... crap..right when my lights turned off! I connected to light wire when lights go on and off. Had to take all back apart and find CORRECT accessory hot lead.

Message me for any assistance help anyone might need.

I looked at that location but I use my phone like that. Plus I have cord that has 3 different charging ports so friends can hook right up.
