Focal K2 system upgrade

Found a few post about these speakers, but the thread was so old I figured it be best if I make a new one.

Specs:
Audio Control 4.1 connected to JL CleanSweep
3 way Power Bass 6.5 2XL
2 way Power Bass 6X9 2XL
900 5 channel amp

Found a gold mine, full focal K2 system that came with a Jeep when purchased. He wants to go marine grade, so he can go off road with the top down. All I have to do is supply low grade marine system for $500.

System Upgrade.
2 way Focal KR2
2 way Focal KRC
FPP 5300 5 Channel Amp.

Do I have to make brackets to get the K2's to fit? Anyone with experience feedback will be appreciated.

If they're going in the front doors then you'll have to make a bracket to fit where the stock 10's are. Should be pretty easy to DIY out of black abs.

10's? I was referring to the 6.75 inch mid driver.

The front doors in the G have a 10" woofer, 3.5" mid, and a tweeter. To put the 6.5 in the door will require a bracket to fit the 6.5 where the 10 currently sits. Unless I am completely butchering what you're trying to do.

I get it now, thank you. Already have 6.5 in the door, but the Focal K2 has a very large magnet. Focal specs say it won't fit my door, just trying to get ideas. Hopefully that bracket you suggested will work.

Thanks

Ah. Understood. Not too sure about clearance between the top of the driver and the door panel, but if there's enough, you could layer the ABS and cut the hole to fit the Focal. That might give you enough room to clear the magnet. Good luck and post updates and pics if you can

I'm considering speaking to a professional have them make custom brackets, cut a 8 inch hole in the door panel, and wrap the spacing with graphic cloth to match the interior.

Edit:

The install shop built the adapter to fit the 6.5" in the 10" woofer space.

Found my answer.

You can get the adapter from PVC Speaker Adapters - CNC Machined - In Stock or Custom Made

Bose set ups have 10" subs/woofers in the doors. Non Bose have 6.75" in the doors. The web site has both adapters.

They also have the tweeter mounts.
