Powered 10in sub in g37s coupe
Powered 10in sub in g37s coupe
I have a 2008 G37s coupe and would like to add a little extra bass to my Bose system. Im keeping the stock screen I have which also has nav if that matters and stock speakers. Was wondering if anyone has done something simliar by adding a 10 or 12inch sub. I was also reffered to this powered sub provided in link below. What do you all think and do you think this would be a hard install? Never worked with audio btw.

I used to work at Best Buy and we sold that infiniti basslink. It will be better to go with a "normal" sub and amp combo than the basslink.
As far as installing you will need to run power wire from your battery to the amp in the trunk (that you will buy). You will also need to install a line out converter which taps into the signal going to your speakers and converts it to an RCA connection that will connect to your amp. Best Buy should charge about $110 total for install.
There are sub boxes made for the G37 here is a link to a couple, but there are more.

I also previously worked at Best Buy for what that's worth, lol.
I have also had experience with the Basslink firsthand in my previous car. I was very happy with the output and sound quality. I have had many different subwoofer orientations: 2-12" woofers, 1-12" woofer, 1-10" woofer, and the Basslink. The Basslink adds a perfect amount of bass to compliment the factory system in a small package and the install is very simple and straightforward.
You will not have King Kong in your trunk if that is what you're after though.

I had a basslink in my Celica GTS and Del Sol was always impressed by the sound of it. I actually gave it to my brother because I never used the high input connector and lost it so couldn't use it in the G. I always used rca input jacks.
I added a 10" Pioneer Champion series subwoofer ($50 amazon) that i pieced together myself with a matching pioneer amp ($100 amazon) and a sealed enclosure. It sits in my trunk and once i dialed it in, adds the perfect amount of bass but I can turn it up or down as needed through the head unit. The existing Bose system was pretty good IMO, just needed a little extra punch.
