High outside temp gauge

Is there a reset or adjustment for the outside temp gauge? It's reading 20 degrees higher then it should be. I know they tend to not be accurate in general but 20 degrees?

Past cars had some sort of reset or calibration mode.

Did you try cleaning the sensor?

Has it been sitting in the sun for a while? Is it reading 20 all the time or does it settle back to normal after some time?

Reads high all the time. But yes it does sit in the hot FL sun. But it also reads high at 7am on my way to work. Not as high but I know it's not 96 at 7am...
Where is the sensor located?

Also does this sensor effect the auto climate control? Cause mine is constantly on a high fan speed in the auto mode.

Got this from the owner's manual.

"The outside temperature sensor is located in front of the radiator. The sensor may be affected by road or engine heat, wind directions and other driving conditions. The display may differ from the actual outside temperature or the temperature displayed on various signs or billboards.

I read that too. As I said I know it's not accurate but it's SO far off it's pretty useless. I downloaded the service manual. I'll tear into it this weekend. Maybe it's jacked up.

Thanks

Mine's usually off by 20 degrees or so in the summer, (when the guage is viewable since it dims when it gets super hot) The hotter the temp, the sunnier, the more off it is. I live in central CA so it's pretty much 102-108 most of the summer. It's annoying but not important. I know it's hot as hell outside, I don't need it to tell me exactly. Accuracy would only matter in cold climate due to freeze points, but seems to be more accurate in the cold anyhow.

If it sits in front of the radiator then it should see ambient temps as you drive. When parked after a good drive it's normal for it to see a lot of heat soak from the engine bay. Sunlight also amplifies this.

Found out I have a year of warranty...It's there now for this & hopefully they also do the TSB on the trans cause it shifts really bad.

EDIT...
Dealer useless. They say normal on the temp readout. I guess it really is 105 outside...

I got roughly the same response from the dealer as JT2014. I pointed out to them, that the loaner I had, the temperature readings were close to reality, whereas mine reads around +10, even on cloudy days and in the winter. Their response was close to whatever, it is what it is, and there is nothing they can do about it.

I got the same response. Has anyone replaced the sensor to see if that fixes the inaccuracy?

I found part of the problem....when I installed my sways & took the under cover off, there is the sensor dangling...attached to some broken plastic piece.
Anyone have a pic or can take a pic of where the sensor & bracket are supposed to be located?

Thanks
